If you are in search of a cool holiday this winter, then you may want to consider skiing in Romania. Ski tours could easily be organized on the Carpathian Mountains around the Transylvania region. Predeal, Poiana Brasov and Sinaia are ski resort centers that are most commonly known. Accommodation is provided in hotels and guesthouses that offer traditional Romanian food in their restaurants. As you enjoy the slopes it would be a good thing to discover a few places like the medieval Towns of Sighisoara, Peles Palace, Brasov, etc. with a private tour.
The touristic ski resort known as Poiana Brasov was established in 1895. It is situated about 12km away from Brasov, which is only a few minutes drive. In 1951 this area hosted the Winter Universities International Olympic Games. The ski slopes are numerous and are graded according to difficulty level; from beginners to professional levels. These skiing zones also incorporate downhill, slalom runs and also an Olympic run. The ski school, situated at the center of the resort, gives great training sessions in both German and English. Specialized skiers and snowboard lovers will have a lot of fun with runs like the Wolf run which is about 3 km in length. The town has a huge number of cool hotels as well as good traditional restaurants.
